Permanent Installations

Permanent AV Installations

With more than six decades of experience in professional audio, the creation of the Design & Installation Division at Masque was a natural progression. Masque has had great success in working on AV installations with some of the finest acousticians and AV designers in the country. Our team has also successfully designed custom installation creations of our own. We take pride in these partnerships and in the outcome of complex, state-of-the art AV integration. Our dedicated permanent AV installations team is equipped with the experience, understanding and tools to ensure that your installation needs are more than met. Masque offers AV installation consultation, design and integration services, and system integration. We also provide in-house engineering, AutoCAD drafting, project management and training. We are fortunate to have long-standing relationships with the highest quality manufacturers of pro-audio equipment. Our partnerships allow us to pass savings to our clients. Current and satisfied clients include 54 Below, St. Bartholomew’s Church, and The New Victory Theater, among others.

“Our sense of wanting to do a good job is what defines us at Masque Sound. We’re committed to following through – the ends of jobs are really tough. The easy work happens in the beginning and the difficult parts come later. We end the job strong, end it well – we leave the client feeling ‘Wow, they did a great job, even when the going got tough.” That’s what sets Masque apart.” – Matthew Peskie, AV Installations Department Manager

Permanent AV Installations Work

Masque Sounds’ existing permanent AV installations work includes not only collaborations with industry leading AV designers and acousticians, but custom audio system creations and installs. You can find our work in theaters, concert halls, educational facilities, sports complexes, nightclubs, recording studios and houses of worship throughout the country.

Lincoln Center’s Claire Tow Theater

The 23,000-square-foot, two-story state-of-the-art facility is home to a 112-seat theater and dressing rooms, as well as rehearsal and office space for Lincoln Center Theater staff and outdoor terrace surrounded by a green roof. This new addition to the facility further’s LCT’s programming initiatives, which are dedicated to producing the work of new artists and the development of new audiences. Masque Sound’s Permanent AV Installations team worked closely with Yorke Construction as well as design firm Jaffe Holden and Tri-State AV union electricians for the project.

54 Below

Located below what was once the legendary nightclub Studio 54, 54 Below aims to provide an unforgettable New York nightlife experience, combining performances by Broadway’s best with world-class dining in an elegant setting. 54 Below features up to three shows nightly as well as a late-night lounge. Accommodating 144 people in the main dining room, with all tables situated no more than 24 feet from the stage; the facilities include the capability to broadcast and record audio and video.

Husson University

Husson University recently constructed Gracie Theater, a 500-seat state-of-the-art performing arts center, and hired Masque Sound Permanent AV Installations team for the project. The Gracie is an intimate theater with balcony, orchestra pit, oversized stage, fly space and exceptional acoustical properties, five miles of wiring plus expansive audio and lighting control systems.

The New Victory Theater

A staple of Times Square theaters since its grand reopening in 1995, the New Victory received a substantial audio upgrade, leveraging the expertise at Masque’s AV Installations department, in August 2010. With the addition of new wire to existing AV panels the new d&b speaker system has provided the NVT with unparalleled flexibility to offer visiting production companies.

The NYU Steinhardt Schools’ James L. Dolan Music Recording Studio

New York University is well known for their School of Music and has updated their 6th floor recording and audio research facility. In addition to adding equipment normally associated with a recording studio Masque’s AV Installations team also incorporated an intricate Crestron control system. The system allows the user to have complete control over video, camera control and several other aspects of the system with the use of a single remote.

Rockland Ballpark

Masque Sound acted as the AV installations consultant for the Provident Bank Park, a multi-zone, multi-input system design allowing the ballpark the flexibility to control inputs and overall level in specific zones. Masque worked hand-in-hand with Mehl Electric to facilitate the in-house rack build, production of drawing package, and site supervision as Mehl installed the speakers, racks and wire.

St. Bartholomew’s Church

St. Bartholomew’s Church is a New York City historical landmark, with the present location serving Manhattan since 1918. In November of 2009, Masque Sound was approached to handle AV installations of an updated sound system designed by Anthony Nittoli of Akustics. Dennis Durney, Director of Facilities, states that Masque was “cooperative and flexible in their approach of wiring and working around our schedule. Your organization is the best contract service group I have had the pleasure of working with.”

WCSU – Western Connecticut State University

The $97 million, 130,000-square-foot state-of-the art facility is home to approximately 450 undergraduate and graduate students, and more than 80 faculty members. A center that took 12 years to conceive, finance, design and build, the new space melds the three departments that were once housed in Higgins, Berkshire and White Halls on the midtown campus. The center features a 350-seat concert hall, with flexibility for a range of instructional uses, a 350-seat theater with the technical assets of a Broadway stage, as well as art studios, music and theatre rehearsal studios, 29 music practice rooms, an art gallery and a recording studio.

“We worked with Masque Sound on the Claire Tow Theatre at Lincoln Center and had a wonderful experience with them, so we knew that the team would be a great fit to work with on this large-scale project,” says Ben Bausher, senior consultant at Jaffe Holden Acoustics. “Even though Masque Sound is a big shop, the crew was incredibly attentive, so much so that I know and have interacted with everyone on the team, and relied on them to offer constant support and guidance throughout the construction process.”

Brooklyn Technical High School

Built in 1933, Brooklyn Tech is home to the third largest auditorium in New York, second only to Radio City Music Hall and the Metropolitan Opera House. Featuring seating for 3,100 and two balconies, the auditorium underwent a 2010 architectural makeover designed to preserve the hall’s 20th century elegance. The Masque Sound upgrade, meanwhile, brought the audio capacity up to 21st-century, professional-caliber production standards.

Dimmena Center for Classical Theater

Home for the Orchestra of St. Luke’s, the DiMenna Center was constructed on the first three floors of a six story building shared with Baryshnikov Arts Center on West 37th Street in New York City. This new complex is used for music rehearsal, recording, broadcast, teleconferencing, and educational and streaming purposes. Designed by Akustiks, LLC, and principal designer Anthony Nittoli stated, “we were confident that Masque Sound’s skill set and attention to detail were a perfect match for Orchestra of St. Luke’s needs.”
